In an alternate timeline, the Temporal Intervention Agency (TIA) was a militaristic temporal enforcement department of the United Federation of Planets in the 31st century. Its headquarters was located on Tandar Prime. The TIA's mission was to protect the Federation from threats. (DTI eBook: The Collectors)
The Temporal Intervention Agency was headed by a director and staffed with supervisors and temporal agents. The TIA maintained a fleet of TIA battleships, equipped to travel through time. In comparison with the prime universe's Federation Temporal Agency, the TIA's investigations of the timeline were more invasive, and the TIA was not afraid of using uptime technology.
Its goals were to safeguard the Federation and modify the timeline in its favor by preventing other factions from developing time travel capabilities. The TIA would also intervene in conventional conflicts on the Federation's behalf. (DTI eBook: The Collectors)
At some point before the mid-31st century, the Na'kuhl destroyed the headquarters of the Federation's temporal agency in London Metrocomplex in West Eurasia on Earth. A memorial was erected in the tower's place, with a plaza surrounding it. The TIA established its new headquarters on Tandar Prime.
TIA operations included interventions that were not in response to temporal incursions. This included keeping quantum slipstream drive out of the hands of the Norolob, preventing their empire from conquering half the Carina Arm sectors of the Federation.
On Day 266, 3051, the TIA attempted to acquire a Collector's obelisk but was foiled by FTA operative Jena Noi and DTI special agents Dulmur and Lucsly. Its final operation before the TIA's timeline was corrected was dispatching a small fleet to the year 21,436,000. The TIA sabotaged the Collector Preserve, which helped the Time Guardians convince the Collectors to shutdown their zoo. (DTI eBook: The Collectors)
