Tephrei was star, a yellow class G dwarf star with an associated system. The Tephrei system was located in the Vendor sector and Alpha Centauri sector block of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. Tephrei hosted four planets. It was initially space controlled by the Romulan Star Empire[1] but later joined the Romulan Republic[2]. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Tephrei System Patrol", STO - Vengeance mission: "Last Stand")

Location[]

This system was located within the Vendor sector, one of three sectors - including the Teneebia and Sierra sectors - assigned to the Alpha Centauri sector block by the year 2409. The Vendor sector was located between 40 and 60 lightyears from Sol, across the Romulan Neutral Zone and within the borders of the Romulan Star Empire. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Tephrei System Patrol")

History[]

Tephrei twin worlds

Astrometric representation of Tephrei I and II in 2410.

In the 2400s decade, the system was known for its twin worlds Tephrei I and II. Nicknamed "Fire and Ice," Tephrei I was a class I gas supergiant with an average surface temperature of 212 degrees Kelvin and traces of water vapor at the poles. In contrast, the class P planet Tephrei II was almost completely covered with a layer of nitrogen ice, more than three kilometers thick at the equator.

In 2409, Allied starships investigated the system for Tkon artifacts. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Tephrei System Patrol")

Sometime later, the Romulan Republic operated a space station in the system. During an Elachi offensive, ships of the Romulan Republic Navy arrived to defend their station against the attackers. (STO - Vengeance mission: "Last Stand")
