The Dying Swan is a solo ballet composed on 20th century Earth.

History[]

In 2342, Kathryn Janeway learned the dance in a beginner's ballet class as a six years old. (VOY episode: "Coda")

In 2373, Janeway explained that not everyone could be the star of talent night, for example being the person who performed The Dying Swan. Some had to work behind the scenes, though Tom Paris pointed out that nobody remembered the name of the person who opened the theater curtains. (VOY - Distant Shores short story: "Talent Night")

Later, Janeway performed the ballet at talent night aboard USS Voyager. (VOY episode: "Coda", VOY - Distant Shores short story: "Talent Night")
