• Nathan Archer is also the pen name of science fiction writer Lawrence Watt-Evans, who wrote the DS9 novel: Valhalla and the VOY novel: Ragnarok.
• The comm officer named Dixon is a reference to actor Ivan Dixon, who played communications officer Kinchloe on Hogan's Heroes.
