The Time Machine was a novel written by human author H.G. Wells in the 19th century, and later adapted as films in the 20th and 21st centuries.

The 1960 film version was one of many owned by James T. Kirk in the 2260s. (TOS novel: Crisis on Centaurus) The novel was later a topic of discussion between Hikaru Sulu and Mandala Flynn aboard the USS Enterprise in 2270. (TOS novel: The Entropy Effect)
