The Twilight Zone was an American science fiction television series with a number of broadcast incarnations, including an initial run from 1959 to 1964, from 1985 to 1989, from 2002 to 2003, and another from 2019. It was created by Rod Serling.
History and specifics[]
In 2152, when Subcommander T'Pol told Captain Jonathan Archer and Commander Charles Tucker III that Human-Vulcan first contact had taken place in 1957 rather than 2063, the latter likened it to a story from the series. (ENT episode: "Carbon Creek")
In 2269, the series' introduction featuring "Rod Serling intoning dourly against a background of flickering stars" was an image which Spock saw in the mind of Roberta Lincoln immediately before severing their mind meld. (TOS novel: Assignment: Eternity)
Vic Fontaine was a fan of the series during its initial run. In 2375, Constable Odo claimed that Rod Serling (Rodserl) sounded like a Romulan name. (DS9 - Millennium novel: Inferno)
- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine showrunner Ira Steven Behr was also the showrunner of the 2002-2003 Twilight Zone revival series.
