The World, the Flesh and the Devil is a science fiction film, released in 1959. Starring Harry Belafonte and Inger Stevens, it focuses on the end of the world, with Earth being destroyed by nuclear war.

In 2374, Vic Fontaine compared himself to Belafonte in the film when everyone on Deep Space 9, except himself, vanished. (Millennium: "Inferno")
