Thraz was an Andorian starship captain in the early 23rd century. In 2301, Thraz discovered a flume of faster-than-light tachyons from a pulsar, which was named the Thraz Streamer in his honor. He was also the namesake of the nearby Thraz system, and the Thraz Outpost, established to study the streamer. (TOS short story: "Ambition")
