Thron was an Andorian. He was a member of Starfleet and served aboard the USS Defiant as a security officer with a specialty in technology.

In January 2377, he was one of several Defiant security personnel who beamed down to Harkoum to capture Taran'atar and return him to Deep Space 9. Thron was able to deactivate the forcefield behind Grennokar's holographic exterior. Thron later joined with his crewmates in engaging Iliana Ghemor's mercenaries. (DS9 novel: Warpath)
