Timothy Lynch was a Human male who served as a Federation Starfleet officer in the 24th century, and was later assimilated by the Borg.

Biography[]

By 2372, Lynch held the rank of ensign, and was assigned to the USS Enterprise-E's security department. In that year, he was part of the team that accompanied mission specialist Lieutenant Padraig Daniels to Starbase 375 to locate station commander Eric Hahn and a possible Dominion bomb. After the detonation, she was part of the efforts to conduct blood screenings on all ship and station personnel. He and Ensign Kao were rendered unconscious by Cadet Bael Nomine who used Lynch's likeness to search the Enterprise for evidence about his involvement in the events on the station. (TNG - Slings and Arrows eBook: The Oppressor's Wrong)

During the Enterprise's mission to Chiaros IV, Ensign Lynch was the head of the security detail that was posted to keep an eye on the Chiarosian freedom fighter Glebuk after he was brought onboard. Lynch found the Chiarosian's size and potential fighting capabilities impressive. (TNG - Section 31 novel: Rogue)

During the Borg attempt to use time travel for the purposes of stopping humanity's first contact with Vulcans, Lynch was assimilated in 2063. The drone was one that pursued Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Lily Sloane into the The Big Goodbye holonovel. Picard used a Tommy gun to kill the drone and retrieve a neuroprocessor from the body. When in a private meeting later with Sloane, she accused Picard of not trying to save Lynch. This inspired Picard to rescue Data from the Borg. (TNG movie: First Contact)

His body, along with the bodies of all the other assimilated Enterprise crew members were turned over to the Borg Sciences unit for study and eventual dismemberment so that they could be returned to their families. (TNG - Section 31 novel: Rogue)
