Bread was a staple food in many races and cultures in known space. It was often prepared by baking a dough of water and flour derived from a grain or other vegetable. Salt, fat and yeast were common ingredients, though breads may contain milk, eggs, sugar, fruits, other vegetables or nuts. When sliced and browned by exposure to dry heat, bread is known as toast.
