Tojal is a Cardassian stew. It is sometimes served with yamok sauce. (DS9 episode: "Destiny", DS9 short story: "Face Value")

The food was known to some species in the 22nd century. (ENT episode: "Canamar")

In 2371, Gilora Rejal, Ulani Belor and Nal Dejar were served tojal, along with Regova eggs by Quark, although Rejal and Belor did not care for Cardassian cuisine. (DS9 episode: "Destiny")

In 2374, tojal was served on Terok Nor for the Cardassian Guard personnel stationed there. Jake Sisko thought it smelled like something from the garbage outside his grandfather's restaurant. (DS9 short story: "Three Sides to Every Story")

In late 2375, Mila served tojal to Kira Nerys, Corat Damar and Elim Garak. She admitted she was not much of a cook and the group soon discovered she was not exaggerating. Damar added yamok sauce to his, while Kira drank water to get rid of the taste. (DS9 short story: "Face Value")
