Troke was a male Tulian, a Federation citizen serving in Starfleet as an officer in the 2250s decade. As common for his people, Troke's body included cybernetic enhancements. These included circular metal enhancements on the left side of his face, and a neural coupling protruding from the occipital lobe on the same side. By 2255, Lieutenant Troke served as deputy science officer of the USS Shenzhou under the command of Captain Philippa Georgiou. He operated from a sunken duty station and reported to Lieutenant Commander Saru, the ship's chief science officer.
In May of that year, Troke assisted Saru in making sense of the cave art found on Sirsa III, and discovered they were points of a map. Saru ordered Troke to match these to entries in the Federation Galactic Catalog. (DSC novel: Desperate Hours)
On stardate 1207.3 (May 11th, 2256), Troke was on the bridge of the Shenzhou in the opening engagement of the war against the Klingon Empire. Unfortunately, the lieutenant perished in the battle. (DSC episodes: "The Vulcan Hello", "Battle at the Binary Stars")
