Tuna was a species of fish native to Earth, commonly used as a food by Humans.

Despite not knowing anything about animal training, Ariana La Forge once successfully trained a pet cat to jump into her arms on command, by consistently keeping pieces of tuna in her blouse for two months. (TNG episode: "Force of Nature")
