Tuna casserole was a tuna-based casserole dish.

Shortly after signing aboard the USS Constitution in 2257, Lieutenant James T. Kirk went to the crew lounge and ordered a meager lunch of tuna casserole and a cup of black coffee. After becoming distracted, he walked into Chief of Security Jack Gaynor and the contents of Kirk's dinner tray ended up on the front of Gaynor's uniform.
