This article is about Turei system. You may be looking for Turei species.

Turei was a binary[1] star system, located in the Markonia sector[2] of the Tekara sector block[2] within the galaxy's Delta Quadrant.[3] The system consisted a type K orange star primary,[1] a type G yellow star secondary,[1] with four[2] planets orbiting the pair. Turei II was the homeworld of the Turei species,[2] the archenemy of the Vaadwaur.[3] (ST reference: Star Charts, STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Revelations")

History and specifics[]

In the 15th century, the Turei joined with allies to defeat the Vaadwaur Supremacy, a dominant polity in the Delta Quadrant. The Turei then assumed control over some of the Vaadwaur's subspace corridors, called Underspace. (VOY episode: "Dragon's Teeth")

The Turei and Vaadwaur systems were located less than five lightyears from one another, in the Markonia sector.

The Supremacy returned to power in the 2410s, equipped with advanced technology. When they attacked Turei II in the year 2410, the Turei's Voth allies were unable to defend the planet. The Vaadwaur assault was repelled by the Alliance based in the Jenolan Dyson Sphere. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Revelations")

One star admiral Tuvok of Alliance High Command dispatched a starship to the Turei system to negotiate Turei membership in the newly formed Delta Alliance, a mutual defense pact against the Vaadwaur Supremacy. Confident in their alliance with the Voth, Ambassador Norrick declined the overture. Following another assault by the Vaadwaur, and a lack of Voth response to the Turei's distress call, Norrick reconsidered and accepted the alliance proposal. Tuvok established diplomatic relations between Alliance High Command and Turei immediately.
