The Typhon-class starship was a new type of vessel produced by Starfleet shortly after the Dominion War.

The vessels were described as Captain Jean-Luc Picard as a mixture between a "mobile outpost and carrier starship". It possessed both scientific and medical facilities allowing it to perform its mission role. They were armed with both pulse phaser turrets and quantum torpedoes. They also carried twenty-six of the new Valkyrie-class fighters.

The prototype model of the ship was commanded by Lieutenant Commander Worf at the time of the Titan System Incident. (TNG video game: Invasion)
