The USS Ahwahnee (NCC-73620) was a Federation Cheyenne-class starship in service to Starfleet in the late 24th century. Her name originated from a Native American word for the Yosemite Valley. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds", ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia)

In 2358, Ensign Erika Benteen was assigned to the vessel as a flight controller officer. (TNG video game: Starship Creator) In 2367, the Ahwahnee participated in the Battle of Wolf 359. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds")

In 2368, the Ahwahnee joined Captain Picard's task force that blockaded the Klingon-Romulan border during the Klingon Civil War. (TNG episode: "Redemption")

According to the Tachyon Detection Grid schematic, the Ahwahnee had a registry number of NCC-71620. Mike Okuda has said that the previous registry number of 73620 was a mistake.
