The USS Ambassador (NX-10521, later NCC-10521) was a Federation starship, an Ambassador-class tier 4 heavy cruiser in Starfleet service in the early 24th century. When the ship was commissioned in 2325, the Ambassador was the prototype for a new class of heavy cruisers. (TNG reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual, Decipher RPG modules: Starfleet Operations Manual, Starships,ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")

Specifications[]

Around stardate 73XX.6, the Ambassador was rated a level 4 battle group heavy cruiser. It featured room for four officers and slots for five weapons or additional systems. Its deflector shields were rated 480, while the structural integrity field, or hull strength, topped at 635. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")

History[]

The Ambassador experienced its first test-bed trials at Helaspont Station near Tzenkethi space in 2319[2], supervised by Starfleet Admirals Los Tirasol Mentir and John Harriman, ostensibly as an intimidation-tactic against the volatile Tzenkethi Coalition. (ST - The Lost Era novel: One Constant Star, ST video game: Starship Creator) During its field trials, the Ambassador visited an unidentified planetary system. (ST calendar: Ships of the Line 2012)

In 2333, the Ambassador carried the registry NX-10521 and was a testbed for new technologies while it was operating out of Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. (STA novel: Enigma; TNG reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual) The Ambassador was later given operational status with the NCC registry number. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia)

As part of Federation Starfleet operations in the Trexelian Expanse around stardate 73XX.6, the USS Ambassador participated in the war games conducted by Starfleet and allied vessels from the 23rd and 24th centuries. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")

The Ambassador also saw action in conflicts with the Klingon Empire, Cardassian Union and Breen Confederacy. (ST video game: Trexels missions: "Events", "Breen Barrier")
