The USS Antares (NCC-2514) was a Federation Constellation-class heavy cruiser/explorer starship in service to Starfleet in the 24th century, and was built around reference stardate 2/6803. (TNG roleplay module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual; SGR novel: Enigma)

At some point in their respective careers, both Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Captain Ivan Gruzinov previously served on the Antares. (TNG novel: Blaze of Glory)

In 2333, the Antares was under the command of Captain Avul Vayishra. The Antares was sent to help the USS Stargazer with the USS Grissom and the USS Reliant in chasing down the interstellar criminal known as "the White Wolf". (SGR novel: Gauntlet)

A few months later, the Antares was the next stop of Admiral Arlen McAteer's tour of the vessels under his command after visiting the Stargazer. (SGR novel: Enigma)
