The USS Armstrong was a Federation vessel in Starfleet service during the 2270s, designated as a cutter. The Armstrong is among of a number of vessels that have borne this name.

In 2275, the Armstrong greeted the USS Enterprise upon her return to the Sol system following her test of the inversion drive. (TOS novel: The Wounded Sky)

By the mid-2280s the Armstrong had either been lost or decommissioned and replaced by a new ship bearing the name. (TOS - The Mirror Universe Saga comic: "Masquerade!")
