The USS Condor (NCC-1866) was a Federation Miranda-class (Anton-subclass) class X cruiser starship in Starfleet service in the mid-23rd century, named for the condor, a type of bird animal, found on numerous planets. The Condor was docked at Starbase 18 in 2275, when the USS Enterprise arrived at the base. (TOS novel: The Wounded Sky)
The Condor was refit to Reliant-subclass specifications and re-entered service on reference stardate 2/1603. (TOS reference: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)
This vessel was succeeded in its name by the 24th century when the Defiant-class USS Condor was in service. (TNG video games: Armada, Armada II)
