Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Star Trek content.

For other uses, see USS Constellation.

The USS Constellation (NX-1974, later NCC-1974) was a Federation Constellation-class cruiser in service to Starfleet from the late 23rd to late 24th centuries. When commissioned in 2284, she was the prototype for a new class of starships. (Star Trek: The Magazine)

While not an official source, the Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual states that this vessel had a registry number of NCC-2500.

The Constellation, with her NX registry, was a participant for certification trials in 2293. (TOS movie: The Undiscovered Country)

In 2371, the Constellation was ordered to Deep Space 9 to transport a Jem'Hadar child to Starbase 201 for study. (DS9 episode: "The Abandoned")

During the Dominion War in mid-2374, it was assigned to assist the USS Defiant in the search for survivors of the Cardassian attack on the USS Honshu. (DS9 episode: "Waltz")
