The USS Corinth was a 24th century Federation starship, a Cheyenne-class[1] tier 4[2] light cruiser[3] in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade. Its commanding officer was Captain Taggart. (NF - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Stone Cold Truths", ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
Specifications[]
Around stardate 73XX.6 (circa 2375), the Corinth was rated a level 4 battle group light cruiser. It featured room for two officers and slots for five weapons or additional systems. Its deflector shields were rated 435, while the structural integrity field, or hull strength, topped at 590. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
History and disposition[]
As part of Federation Starfleet operations in the Trexelian Expanse, the USS Corinth participated in the war games conducted by Starfleet and allied vessels from the 23rd and 24th centuries. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
The Corinth also saw action in conflicts with the Klingon Empire, Cardassian Union and Breen Confederacy. (ST video game: Trexels missions: "Events", "Breen Barrier")
By the year 2373, the Corinth was known as Captain Taggart's boat to Commander Elizabeth Shelby of the USS Excalibur. She knew him as by-the-book kind of officer.
Following a 14-month temporal displacement, the Excalibur appeared from a slingshot near Haresh and found the wreckage of the Corinth and a Romulan warbird. The crew was aware of the ongoing Dominion War but unaware of the current situation. The Excalibur crew, including security chief Lieutenant Zak Kebron learned that the Cardassians had stolen the Corinth from drydock and attempted to deliver it to their Dominion masters. The Romulans intercepted the Corinth, and both ships were destroyed, with all hands lost.
Legacy[]
One hundred fifty years later, in 2525, the mentor of Cal Kebron, asked Cal to write a story about the glory of war based on Zak Kebron's experience in the Dominion War. To teach both a lesson, Zak made up a story, wherein the Excalibur crew figured out that the Corinth had been seized. Captain Mackenzie Calhoun joined forces with the Romulan commander, and used his ship's port cannons and grappling hooks to disable and board the Corinth. Fighting the Cardassians to the bridge, Calhoun and Kebron heroically defeated the Founder controlling the ship. (NF - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Stone Cold Truths")
