The USS Defender (NCC-26227) was a Federation Miranda-class (Reliant-subclass) cruiser starships in service to Starfleet in the 23rd century.

The Defender was one of the first new build Reliant-subclass starships to enter service, and was launched on reference stardate 2/1507. On stardate 2/2007, the Defender was refitted to Mk II specifications. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)
