The USS Discovery was a Daedalus-class starship in service in the 22nd century. It was among the first Federation Starfleet starships constructed.

The Discovery was later retired from service and became a walk-through exhibit at the Starfleet Museum in San Francisco. It was still housed there in the 24th century and Jake Sisko had viewed the Discovery sometime before 2374. (DS9 - Millennium novel: The War of the Prophets)
