The USS Discovery (NCC-62049) was a Nebula-class Federation starship in service in the late 24th century.

In the 2360s, the Discovery was commanded by Captain Ann Portikos. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation - Core Games Book)

Manolet Dayrit served on the Discovery prior to becoming chief of security aboard the USS Hood. (VOY - The Brave and the Bold, Book Two novella: The Third Artifact) Crewman Grazna also served on Discovery at the same time as Dayrit. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)

This vessel was presumably decommissioned or otherwise removed from service before the launch of the USS Discovery (Steamrunner-class). Dayrit is placed on this Discovery considering the date of the Steamrunner-class's introduction, and on the assumption that it was its decommissioning that necessitated his reassignment to the Hood prior to 2371.
