The USS Exeter (NCC-2016) was an Excelsior-class battleship in service to Starfleet in the 23rd and 24th centuries, entering service on reference stardate 2/3302. (RPG reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)

At some point in her thirty years service up to 2333, Mollie Katz served as a transporter chief aboard the Exeter. (SGR novel: Gauntlet)

By the 2360s the Exeter had been decommissioned or lost and replaced by a another vessel bearing the name Exeter. (TNG episode: "The Wounded")
