The USS Freeman Dyson (NCC-72411) was a Federation Nova-class science vessel in service to Starfleet in the 24th century.

In the early 2370s, the Freeman Dyson was assigned to survey a Dyson Sphere which was discovered by the USS Enterprise-D in 2369. The main purpose for the Freeman Dyson and her team of scientists was to communicate with the Sphere's automation system. (Decipher RPG modules: Starships, Worlds)

The Freeman Dyson was named after the 20th century Human physicist, Freeman Dyson.
