In an alternate timeline, the USS Galatea was a starship in service to the Federation Starfleet in the mid 2360s. It was one of the first of a new class of ship designed to counteract the Borg threat.

- It is unclear what the class of ship this Galatea is, or whether it also existed in the main universe. It would be unlikely to be the same vessel as the Luna-class USS Galatea, as the Luna-class was expressly designed for peaceful exploration. Presumably, if this Galatea did exist in the main universe, it was destroyed or decommissioned prior to 2379 or 2380.
- The Constellation-class USS Galatea existed in the same decade in the primary universe but was an older design, not part of a new class.
