The USS Hawking was a Federation Nebula-class starship in service to Starfleet in the 24th century.

In the mid-24th century, the Hawking completed a survey of the Maelstrom, a volatile region of space bordering Federation, Klingon, and Cardassian territories. During the survey, the Hawking discovered many fascinating phenomena inside the region. (TNG video game: Bridge Commander)

The Hawking was one of many Nebula-class starships to be involved in the fight against the Borg invasion of 2377. (TNG video game: Armada II)

In 2381, the Hawking under Captain Bal Itak was refitted with a quantum slipstream drive and assigned to Project Full Circle: a Starfleet expeditionary force into the Delta Quadrant. (VOY novel: Full Circle)
