The USS Hera (NCC-62006) was a Federation Nebula-class cruiser in service in the 24th and 25th century.

History[]

24th century[]

In the year 2370, the Hera, under the command of Captain Silva La Forge, with a crew composed mainly of Vulcans, mysteriously disappeared on a courier run. Although a massive search was mounted, no trace of the vessel or its crew was ever found. The Hera was believed to have been destroyed and a memorial service was held for the crew. (TNG episode: "Interface", Decipher RPG module: Starfleet Operations Manual)

In 2383, the crew of the USS Challenger discovered evidence that the Hera had been transported into deep space by a form of natural quantum slipstream. The transit had modified the molecular structure of the Hera, increasing its density and warping the vessel. An away mission from the Challenger was able to investigate the vessel and rescued several survivors. The ship was transported to base for repairs. (TNG novel: Indistinguishable from Magic)

25th century[]

In 2409, Captain Akira Sulu informed Starfleet that the Hera was destroyed by Orion pirates while on a survey mission. The Hera was no match for the Orions, and the subsequent battle killed more than 50 members of the ship's crew. In orbit around a planet site were found various pieces of debris, some of which appeared to be consistent with a Nebula-class starship's saucer configuration. (STO video game: Star Trek Online)
