The USS Honorius was a Sovereign-class starship constructed at Starbase 12 in the late 24th century. Following the destruction of the USS Enterprise-D at Veridian III in 2371, the Honorius was renamed, and launched in 2372 as USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E). (SCE eBook: The Future Begins)

According to the Enterprise-E dedication plaque, it was constructed at San Francisco Fleet Yards, not Starbase 12.

Its construction was under the overall supervision of Captain Morgan Bateson, while construction of the engineering section was overseen by Captain Montgomery Scott. (TNG novel: Ship of the Line)
