The USS Hotspur was a Federation frigate in service in the 23rd century.

Following the outbreak of hostilities between the Federation and the Gorn Hegemony in the alternate 2270s, Hikaru Sulu was promoted to captain and assigned command of the Hotspur. Making up his crew were some former USS Enterprise crewmates, including Pavel Chekov and Nyota Uhura, and a collection of inexperienced ensigns and cadets. In an alternate, the Hotspur was assigned to attack a Gorn facility in an attempt to stop their ability to transport instantaneously to any location using the power of the Metrons. (TOS - The Janus Gate novel: Future Imperfect)
