The USS Houston (NCC-2756) was a Loknar-class (mark II subclass) Federation frigate starship in the 23rd century, entering Starfleet service on reference stardate 2/0003. The Houston was named for the city of Houston on Earth, and was refit to the Loknar mark IV specifications on stardate 2/1403, and again to mark V on stardate 2/2002. There was a later mention of a USS Houston in a 24th century story, a 70 year span which lowers the possibility of this 23rd century Houston being the same ship mentioned in that appearance, although such a possibility exists, since this Houston was never described as being destroyed or taken out of service.
