This ship entered active service around reference stardate 2/8303, having been named for the noteworthy member of Starfleet, Kai-Jasik. The Kai-Jasik was recorded as destroyed on stardate 3/0103. Although there was no person named Kai-Jasik mentioned in any other Star Trek releases, the class is noted to be named for influential figures in Starfleet history.
