The USS Luna (NX-80101) was the prototype Luna-class Federation starship launched in the 2370s. This vessel conducted field tests on the spaceworthiness of the Luna-class design in 2372. Starship designer Xin Ra-Havreii personally blamed himself for a fatal accident in the engine room of the Luna, although those who had been in the engine room (and even some who had not) insisted it was not his fault and that he couldn't have predicted the accident.
