The USS Magellan was a Federation starship, an Akira-class cruiser in Starfleet service in the 24th century. In the 2370s, the Magellan was part of the Third Fleet. (TNG video game: Armada II)

History[]

In 2376, the Magellan saw action in the war against the Borg when the Collective invaded the Alpha Quadrant to assimilate the Federation and acquire an Omega particle. (TNG video game: Armada)

On stardate 54637.3 (August 31st, 2377), the Magellan participated in the Third Fleet in the Delta Quadrant as part of the Starfleet offensive against the Borg Collective. While travelling through System J-356, the fleet was ambushed by unknown vessels. At the conclusion of the battle the Magellan survived but was derelict. A task force let by the USS Enterprise-E responded to the 3rd Fleet's distress call and recovered the Magellan. (TNG video game: Armada II mission: "The Cavalry")

No final fate is established for this vessel as its name was randomly selected for an Akira-class vessel by the game software.
