The USS Nelson (NCC-7350) was the prototype Federation mk I Nelson-class class VII scout starship in service to Starfleet in the mid-23rd century, entering service on reference stardate 1/8804 (early 2240s). (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)

By the early 2250s, the Nelson had either been lost or decommissioned and replaced by another starship bearing the same name. (EV comic: "Flesh of My Flesh")
