The USS Newton (NCC-1727) was a Federation starship in service to Starfleet in the mid-23rd century, in the midst of an alternate reality brought about by Nero's interference to time.

A Cadet Blake was among the members of 2258's graduating class to be hurriedly assigned to the Newton to bring the ship to full readiness to respond to a crisis in the Vulcan system. Shortly thereafter, the Newton was destroyed by the Narada during a mission to investigate a lightning storm in space in the proximity of Vulcan. (TOS novelization: Star Trek)
