The USS Ohio was a Federation Excelsior-class exploration cruiser starship in service to Starfleet in the 24th century. By the mid-2350s, the Ohio was under the command of Captain Manning.

In 2354, the Ohio was preparing to depart Spacedock at the same time as the Daedalus-class USS Benjamin Franklin. Spacedock Control ordered the Benjamin Franklin to depart after the Ambassador-class USS Independence, but before the Ohio. Before departure, Captain Manning sent a message to the Benjamin Franklin wishing them luck on their mission. (TNG novel: The Haunted Starship)
