The USS Pacific was a Miranda-class starship in service to Starfleet in the late 23rd century.

In 2289, Commander Pavel Chekov and Captain Montgomery Scott were assigned to the Pacific to test a new protomatter weapon.

When the Pacific fired the protomatter device at the test asteroid, the ship was transported over 30,000 light years away. Scott and Chekov discovered that the weapon and the Pacific were tampered with by group that called themselves the Aegis. The USS Enterprise-A managed to track down the Pacific with the help of Gary Seven. The Pacific was then destroyed in battle with the Aegis, but Scotty saved the crew by jury-rigging the vessel's transporter. (TOS comic: "The Peacekeeper")
