The USS Pathfinder (NCC-74562) was a Federation Intrepid-class cruiser starship in Starfleet service in the 24th century, one of a number of vessels to bear the name.
History

Commissioned in the 2370s, Pathfinder carried on the tradition of its name from a mid-24th century USS Pathfinder, as well as an earlier Constitution-class USS Pathfinder. (TNG novel: Intellivore; TOS comic: "What Fools These Mortals Be..")
In 2373, the Pathfinder joined a group of vessels sent to the Gamma Quadrant in reprisal for a pre-emptive strike against Deep Space 9 by the Dominion. The Pathfinder followed the fleet flagship, the USS Enterprise-E in the company of starships USS Kongo and USS Stargazer-A, along with a number of Klingon Empire vessels. While engaging Jem'Hadar ships, Pathfinder was destroyed, the only Federation ship to be lost on that mission. (TNG - Unlimited - Telepathy War comic: "Heart of Darkness")
This vessel was succeeded in its name by a replacement vessel, another Intrepid-class Pathfinder. (ST - Mirror Universe Trilogy novel: Preserver)
