USS Patrick O'Brian was, in 2296, the name of a non-existent Federation Starfleet starship. Commander Nyota Uhura of the USS Intrepid II instructed Lieutenant Duchamps to hail the Patrick O'Brian by name, on a frequency that would be overheard by a nearby cloaked Romulan Warbird.
