The USS Polaris was a Miranda-class starship in service to the Federation Starfleet in the late 23rd century.

In 2284, the Polaris, under the command of Captain Matthew Renolds, was assigned to patrol the Federation-Klingon border. The Polaris went to Outpost P-3 and was assigned on a mission to the Thelda System with the USS Achilles. The Polaris defeated Klingon vessels near Thelda I and Thelda II. During a patrol the Polaris was ambushed by Klingon warships and was heavily damaged while defending Sherman's Planet.

Following the battle, Renolds and the bulk of the Polaris's crew were transferred to the USS Jefferson. (ST video game: Tactical Assault)
