The USS Portland (NCC-57418) was a Chimera-class Federation starship in service in the 24th century. (ST reference book: Star Trek Encyclopedia)
Following her graduation from Starfleet Academy in 2369, Ensign Hoya was assigned to the Portland as a flight controller. She would spend the next two years aboard before transferring to Deep Space 9. (ST video game: Starship Creator)
In 2371, the Portland was assigned to assist a Cardassian cruiser in helping to search for a runabout which had gone missing from Deep Space 9. (DS9 episode: "The Die is Cast")
This vessel was presumably named for the U.S. cities Portland, Oregon and Portland, Maine.
