The USS Raptor was a Federation starship in Starfleet service in the mid-23rd century. The Raptor had been considered a prime candidate to be the test vessel of the prototype of the inversion drive apparatus, at the suggestion of Vice Admiral Rhonda Halloran, but ended up losing that selection to USS Enterprise in 2275.
