The USS Rhode Island (NCC-72701) was a Nova-class Federation starship in service in the late 24th century.

In an alternate timeline, the Rhode Island was under the command of Captain Harry Kim. In 2400, the Rhode Island was sent on a four-year deep space mission. In 2404, the Rhode Island returned. The Rhode Island intercepted Admiral Kathryn Janeway’s shuttle in her attempt to go back in time. Captain Kim decided to help Admiral Janeway and the Rhode Island fought against Klingon warships trying to kill Janeway. (VOY episode & novelization: Endgame)
