The USS Starling (NAR-32877) was a Federation Aerie-class surveyor in service to Starfleet in the 24th century. Starling's mission assignments were submitted to, evaluated by, and approved by the Federation Science Council. During her service career, the Starling was assigned to Doctor T'Venik for a stellar cartography mission in the Gamma Quadrant. (Decipher RPG module: Starships)
In March 2384, the Starling confirmed the presence of a Tzenkethi mobile surveillance platform in the Beta Aurealis star system. The platform was thought to have been deployed to monitor the operations of the USS Enterprise-E at Azeban V. (TNG - Cold Equations novel: Silent Weapons)
