The USS Sungari was a Danube-class runabout in service in the 2370s and one of Deep Space 9's complement of ships.
In April 2376, the Sungari was launched to rescue the crew of the USS Defiant, which had been disabled by a Jem'Hadar attack. (DS9 novel: Avatar)
Later that month, the Sungari assisted the USS Rio Grande in towing Empok Nor's fusion core to Deep Space 9. (DS9 novel: Abyss)
During the Gateways Crisis, Nog and Thirishar ch'Thane used the Sungari to travel to the Gamma Quadrant's Kar-telos system to escort the Halloran back to the Alpha Quadrant.
The Sungari was later assigned to investigate why there were no Iconian Gateways within ten light years of the Bajoran wormhole. While doing so, the runabout was attacked by an unidentified starship and both ships were disabled. The Defiant rescued Nog and Shar before the warp core breached, destroying the Sungari. (DS9 novel: Demons of Air and Darkness)
- The Sungari was named after China's Songhua River.
